Uniform Guidelines
This policy was designed in collaboration with the School Leadership Team (SLT) and our parent-teacher association. In alignment with Chancellor's Regulation A-665, we believe our uniform policy has helped our school "promote a more effective learning climate; foster school unity and pride; improve student performance; foster self-esteem; eliminate label competition; simplify dressing and minimize costs to parents; teach children appropriate dress and decorum in their “work” place; and help to improve student conduct and discipline."
PS/MS 278 Standard Uniform (Required Daily):
- 278 Polo (must have our 278 Logo)
- 278 Crewneck (K-8), 278 Quarterzip (6-8) or plain navy blue cardigan or zip up sweater (no hoodies)
- Navy uniform pants or skirt
PS/MS 278 PE Uniform:
- On scheduled PE days, students may choose to wear the Gym Uniform instead.
- 278 Gym T-Shirt
- 278 Gym Sweatpants
The following items are not permitted:
- Crocs
- Slides
- Slippers
- Jeans
- Leggings
More Information:
- Please note that the online store lists the crewneck under the Gym Uniform section due to the way the store is organized. It is not limited to PE days.
- The online store organizes items into “Girls” and “Boys” sections based on the vendor’s sizing and garment-cut categories. Students and families may order items from either section based on fit, comfort, and preference.
- Additional middle school uniform options are expected later this fall, including quarter-zip sweaters and other items.
- Uniform shorts for all students are planned for the spring and will not be available this fall. Note: no shorts are permitted until June.
- We will share updates as new items are added to the store.

The quantities below are recommendations only. Families may purchase fewer or additional items based on their child’s needs.
- 3 Standard Uniform Tops (Polos)
- 3 Standard Uniform Bottoms (Smith’s American pants or skirt)
- 1 School Cardigan or Crewneck Sweatshirt
- 1 Gym Uniform Set (Top and Bottom)
